I believe clients can feel safer, more grounded, and more courageous when they understand who their therapist is and what guides their work.
Transparency matters to me, because it helps build trust and rapport.
Some of the identities I hold include being a queer, cisgender Black woman.
The intersectionality of these identities has shaped my lived experiences, and I take responsibility for how they show up in the therapy space.
I’m deeply committed to creating a therapeutic environment where clients feel supported enough to take meaningful risks, speak honestly, and explore who they are becoming.
How I Practice
I view therapy as a collaborative relationship rather than a hierarchy.
I’m intentional about:
Naming and softening power dynamics
Honoring clients as the experts of their own lives
Centering your values, intuition, and inner wisdom
Offering guidance, curiosity, and care rather than trying to “fix” you
My work is grounded in:
Queer-affirming care
Trauma-informed practice
Social justice-oriented values
Identity, culture, and community
Ongoing learning, reflection, and accountability
Curiosity for yourself and your relationships
I believe healing happens both individually and relationally, and that identity, culture, and community matter.
I’m committed to ongoing consultation and supervision to support ethical, responsive, and affirming care, especially when working with queer and marginalized communities.
